Katahdin Studio (our sister company) is excited about the introduction of its latest line of music room and studio furniture. The Strata Collection demonstrates an innovative approach to design. These thoughtful and original pieces allow for the use of more economical materials and production methods.
...and YES! This cabinet is made in the USA, right here at our workshop in Maine. No other music cabinets of this quality and price range are made in America... period.
However, it should be acknowledged that the Strata Collection is not so much an “economy line”, but simply a line that "costs" less. The attention to detail that Katahdin has build its reputation on is in every way put to work here. In fact, it is the focus on detail and quality that makes these new pieces possible under the Katahdin brand.
The Strata 8 Drawer Music Cabinet is elevated on legs for easy accessibility. Its primary material is a cabinet grade baltic birch veneer which is robust in stability, never cracks, and exhibits an earthy natural surface. Cherry and Red Oak models also available at special request for an additional charge of $75.
Our music cabinets have drawers with a proven design of open sides, and a back-stop at the rear to secure pages and pages of sheet music.
The Strata 8 is 26” in height, with a footprint and top of about 18” wide and 14” deep. The sheet music trays have an interior of about 13” X 11”, with six of the trays having an interior depth of 2”, and the top and bottom trays having a depth of about 1 ¾”.
All pieces in our Strata Collection have surfaces dressed with a hand-rubbed oil finish. Made right here at the Katahdin shop in Lewiston, Maine.
