Katahdin Home Heirloom Rag Rugs

Katahdin Home Heirloom Rag Rugs are handcrafted on a loom one-at-a-time right here in Maine. The weaving of rag rugs is a traditional folk art common to many countries and cultures.

Traditionally, rag rug materials were in essence “rags” from worn out clothing and other household fabrics which would otherwise be discarded. Rag weaving takes these humble materials and transforms them into a new life of beauty and service. The combinations of color, contrasting textures, and wandering patterns make each rug’s character and appeal unique. Infrequent “irregularities” are also a part of each rug’s quality of character.

All rag rugs are approximately 36” X 27”. Handmade in Maine from new and recycled cotton and cotton blend materials.
