Product Description
The Farmhouse Dinner Table is our first offering in the Readfield Farm Collection. The table has a standard length of 84” and is 33” in width. The surface is 31” off the floor. The table and bench you see here are crafted from barnboard sheathing and structural beams that were salvaged from a 19th century barn recently dismantled in Kents Hill, Maine.
The table is certainly of a primitive and rustic motif, however it is assembled with mortise and tenon joinery, just as found on our various pieces of fine cherry furniture. Our Farmhouse tables and benches exhibit many nailholes, knotholes, and weathered cracks... all intentionally left to tell you the board’s life story. Surfaces are sanded as home furniture should be, and the wood is sealed with an oil finish.
Every piece of our Readfield Farm furniture comes with a certificate detailing the history of the building that the material was salvaged from.
